Operation NAAMAN
What is Operation N.A.A.M.A.N.?
For years God has been using the church to be a spiritual barracks for military personnel serving near them. He has also been using those same soldiers and sailors and airmen to be a blessing to these privileged churches by their discipline and dedication to God's work. These servicemen are the “cream of the crop” of America’s people. However, many churches do not know how to utilize this resource to its fullest potential.
With this in mind, Eagles' Wings Military Ministry (out of Aultman Baptist Church in western Pennsylvania) has developed OPERATION NAAMAN.
N-A-A-M-A-N stands for the Navy-Army-Airforce-Marines-Action-Network, a labor and supply web involving Bible-believing independent, fundamental separated Baptist churches located near military bases. The goal of this project is to (I) place near every possible military base in the country a serious, fruitful, church-based military outreach, and (2) have these churches connected loosely through the EWMM "hub" —only insomuch as the church requests—for sharing of information and directing military transferees to other good churches.
The method employed is time-tested, scriptural, and proven. The goal is interfacing the local church as an institution with the military base as an institution, and proving the necessity of God's churches to the personnel of the military. We utilize our experience with reaching the military as a springboard to connect the seeking pastors of churches with the seeking servicemen on the bases. We approach the chaplains (who are the ones that oversee any religious outreaches on base) with a servant spirit-- basically saying, "how can we serve you by reaching the Let's boil it down...
PRELUDE: Why reach your base? 1) They need us 2) We need them
PLAN: How to do it? 1) What God has given us A. A scriptural basis—the Centurion, Naaman, etc. B. A holy vision— to see every base in the world have a Bible-believing church reaching it! C. An applicable plan--NAAMAN - Using the credentials the Lord has given us, we go to the chaplains and offer to serve them by holding Bible studies (the “little-maid” principle) D. An open door - Because of budget shortages and other regulations, many chaplains have their hands tied. They are more than willing to let us “share the load”! 2) What you can do A. Pray B. Commit—to what God wants YOU to do C. Go—make contacts in the ways you can PROSPECTUS: What can you expect? 1. God’s blessing 2. Satan’s opposition 3. Soldiers coming to Christ 4. Visitors in your church services 5. Joy in knowing you’re being a GOSPEL GIVER and reaching America’s CREAM OF THE CROP!
